Life Coaching is for those who feel mentally settled, but who feel that they still need help making and meeting their goals and aspirations. Or they may need support as they work towards promotion or changing work roles.
As a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society) SGCP (Special Group for Coaching Psychology) I endorse the coaching psychology definition of Coaching.
'Coaching Psychology is for enhancing well-being and performance in personal life and work domains with normal non-clinical populations underpinned by models of coaching grounded in established adult learning or psychological approaches' (adapted Grant and Palmer 2002) The Coaching Psychology Handbook. Edited by Stephen Palmer and Alison Whybrow.
I can incorporate some Life Coaching sessions just prior to closing a Counselling client, as I feel once clients feel more confident about moving forward with their lives, it can be helpful to offer them the skills to focus and set goals to work towards in the future.
I can also see specific Life Coaching clients if you feel this will be the best approach to meet your needs. (Fee £30 per session)
Together we will set goals and put in place a plan to help and support you until those goals are met.
I usually find that once clients have learnt the skills of goal setting and action planning, they are then able to successfully put these skills in place at any stage in their lives when they would prove beneficial.
